A properly documented risk assessment is your machine’s safety health checkup. The Risk Assessment process begins with a diverse team that knows both the machine’s tasks, operation and the machine safety standards. The team first task is to document the tasks personnel perform on the machine and for each of these tasks, the team has to identify the hazards personnel may be exposed to. Once these hazards are identified the team then prioritizes the hazards with a risk level from High, Medium, Low or Negligible.
If the risk above is not acceptable then we go to the risk reduction measure, where we evaluate various safety measures that reduce the risk to an acceptable level and meet the standards and OSHA’s regulations.
