For new machine acquisitions, Safe-T-Sense provides the service of validation to ensure the risk reduction solutions have been installed correctly and operate reliably, in compliance with relevant ANSI & ISO standards. The first step to performing the validation is documenting the validation plan. This requires us to review your risk assessment, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings, and your safety relay/safety controller program. Using this information, we create the safety validation plan, which is a checklist of the required analysis and testing including:
- Visual inspection of risk reduction measures to confirm they are installed in compliance to the standards
- Functional testing of the risk reduction measures to confirm they are performing the safety function they are intended to perform
- Forced failures that need to be performed on the risk reduction measures, and how they are intended to react if properly designed
Once the validation plan is completed a site visit is scheduled to perform the validation and document the compliance or non-compliance of your machine’s risk reduction solutions.
