Part of the validation process of ISO 13849-2 is verifying that the PL required (PLr) for your machine is being achieved. This is critical to ensure that each of your safety functions is meeting the intended reliability based on the level of risk.
Safe-T-Sense uses SISTEMA to document the PL calculations of your functional safety circuit. Prior to beginning the SISTEMA verification, your machine’s risk assessment, schematics, bill of material, and safety logic are reviewed. Next, Safe-T-Sense will document each of your safety functions, the subsystems that it consists of, and its required performance level (PLr).That information will be entered into SISTEMA to generate the achieved performance level for each safety function.
